Former Naval Officer Thomas served as United States Ambassador to Guyana and Kenya. Gerald was born in Natick, Massachusetts on June 23, 1929, to Walter and Leila Thomas, President Ronald W. Reagan appointed Gerald E. Thomas to both ambassadorships.
