Kenya, a country in East Africa is famed for its scenic landscapes and vast wildlife preserves.

Kenya, officially Republic of Kenya, Country in eastern Africa. Area: 224,961 sq mi (582,646 sq km). Population: (2023 est.) 50,830,000. Capital: Nairobi. It is noted for wildlife as lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, hippopotamuses, rhinoceroses, buffalo and crocodiles.
About one-tenth of the land is arable, and more than one-third is used for grazing cattle, goats, and sheep. Agriculture employs much of the workforce, and tea and coffee are the leading exports. Kenya is a multiparty republic with two legislative houses; its head of state and government is the president, assisted by the deputy president.
Below is Fort Jesus Museum in Mombasa, Kenya. It is a popular cultural attraction for visitors exploring the country’s second largest city.

Accredited as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, Fort Jesus Museum is a Portuguese fort that was built in Mombasa in 1593 and is considered one of the most exceptional examples of 16th century Portuguese military fortifications in the world. A visit to the fort provides a fantastic introduction to the history of Mombasa and the wars that took place between the Muslim Arabs and the Christian Europeans for control of the area.
The first image below is of Waterbucks. The waterbuck is a large species of antelope that can be found in sub-Saharan Africa. It has 13 subspecies and is more sedentary than other antelopes. This social animal usually gathers in herds of 6 to 30 members, either with females and their offspring or in all-male groups. The waterbuck lives in savanna and scrub habitats near bodies of water. It is listed as least concern but is still threatened by poaching and human disturbance.


Our 17-month-old granddaughter visited us last week and her mother turned on one of her favorite videos below. It was my first time hearing this song and it is perfect for today’s blog. I was told that our oldest granddaughter wears her hair in two huge puffs imitating the girl in this video, now I know why the big puffs of our oldest daughter’s child.
