Years ago, my husband and I took a flight from Alabama to Boseman, Montana to attend a mandatory conference in Big Sky.
While at Montgomery’s Airport, we had difficulty hearing and understanding the announcer. We moved closer to the front, but we still had difficulty hearing. My husband went to the restroom and heard loud and clear the final call for us to board the plane.
Thank God the pilot waited. We made all connecting flights to Atlanta, to Utah and to Boseman, and finally we drove to Big Sky in our renter car.
God, too, gave us a final call about His Son, Jesus the Christ “Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!” Our final calls are Jesus’ death, the Plan of Salvation and His return.

The announcer gave us a final call to board the plane. By the grace of God, we made it. However, God’s final call how to board the flight to Heaven has been made. Are we close enough to the Lord to hear His Word? No one will miss the flight to the Judgment Day, but is our calling and election sure that we will make it to Heaven?
Conclusion
We cannot live with false security in doctrines of men. We are told to make our calling and election sure, and the only way to do that is to follow the Plan of Salvation outlined in Scriptures.
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel, not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.” Galatians 1:6-9
