Will the Real Juveniles Stand Up?

“Children need to get a high-quality education, avoid violence and the criminal-justice system, and gain jobs. But they deserve more. We want them to learn not only reading and math but fairness, caring, self-respect, family commitment, and civic duty. — Colin Powell

Juvenile delinquency is defined as the habitual committing of criminal acts or offenses by a young person, especially one below the age at which ordinary criminal prosecution is possible. “Young people”! This definition needs to change to adults with childlike minds. Why?

We have corrupt politicians committing crimes with no time served in prisons, but young people doing lifetime behind bars for minor crimes.

Some known innocent people were/are frame for crimes they did not commit and spend thirty to forty years behind prison bars before the Innocent Project heard about their cases and cleared them. The millions awarded to them in lawsuits cannot replace their lives, livelihood, loss of family members, jobs, friends, reputation from the unfortunate corruption. https://innocenceproject.org/about/

Instead of the state I was born and lived for 40 years rehabilitating and offering jobs to those who want to work and need to work to care for their families and/or offer poor citizens quality education and free college tuition, the governor chose to spend $1 Billion Dollars to build a single prison. Yes, a single prison to house those they deem less than humans! If anyone, regardless of race, commits crimes they need to be appropriately punished with the time fit for the committed crimes.

Appalling! Alabama, I believe, has the most prisons, prisoners and where the most slave traders bargained and sold Black people including babies in downtown Montgomery at One Court Square–The Slave Market. https://eji.org/files/slavery-in-america-summary.pdf

No, it does not make me proud to learn and share this information, but it must be shared before removed from all history books, outlawed for media reporting, households and faded forever from our memories.

Conclusion

I know for the second day; I am posting off my six 6:30 AM EST regular schedule but I was inspired to write this blog. Today’s original scheduled blog was moved to Draft for another day.

Acknowledgments

I would like to thank you all for reading, commenting and for the spiritual, adult and respectful dialogues.

My left-hand Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery went well yesterday, now I have no use of that hand for at least eight weeks. I was told there was also a lot of scar tissue from my 2017 Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery which contributed to the severe pain experiencing.

Thank you for the prayers, thoughts, texts, emails, phone calls and blog responses of concern. I appreciate everyone.

From link below: “‘One red flag was the 56-foot yacht in front of the judges’ Florida condo, where they and Mr. Powell started spending much of their time. Owned by Mr. Powell, the $1.5 million boat was named the Reel Justice.’

‘The conspicuous wealth Judge Ciavarella enjoyed in Florida was a far cry from the rough East End neighborhood in Wilkes-Barre where he grew up and is still known as “the local kid who made it big.’”
