I have a tremendous desire to learn, and to grow, and to develop whatever I have that will make for any kind of improvement in me. —Lawrence Welk

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart (Proverbs 10:24).
God will not always grant us all desires of our hearts. There were promotions I applied for but were not given opportunities to be selected although highly qualified, referred and previous preformed duties in other positions.
At one agency, a division chief told me that I, the team leader, the most qualified and preferred candidate, was not selected because I am Black. She is also Black. Her reason was that people would say my race was her reason for selecting me. Instead, she selected unqualified employees I supervised. All in God’s plan.
A few months after the above-mentioned decision of the division chief, a better promotion at another agency was offered. My new supervisor and I had a great relationship and still do after approximately twenty plus years later. I am forever grateful for unfilled desires regardless of how they happened.

It was in the new position; I was taught the Truth from the Bible and was baptized into Christ in 2002. Not every storm in our lives come to destroy us, but to clear paths for better opportunities already authorized by God, not our hearts desires.
I am thankful for all hiring officials who thought they were hurting me. They were being moved by the Hands of God and had no control over their decisions. “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you…” (Genesis 50:20-21a)
Another example is my husband turning down a lieutenant promotion after accepting a minister’s position; the Church was his priority. When things settled down and he was grounded in the congregation, his supervisor offered him the captain position and he accepted. Only God…
God knows our hearts and when to bless us. We must not worry about the evil fiery arrows thrown at us. Instead, trust God’s Hands in moving things and people around for His and our benefit.

Conclusion
When being offer anything, we must make sure to know which spirit is making the offer–the Spirit of God, or the spirit of Satan (1 John 4:1-3).
Oh wow congratulations to your husband! God is good and faithful.

Georgetta, all we have to do is be still in the process so God can move things and us for His Glory. Hence, sharing our testimonies to encourage others of the importance of being still in the storms for divine intervention to be fulfilled.
