Spiritual Maturity

Spiritual maturity is not measured by how much scripture you quote or how loud and long your prayers. Spiritual maturity is becoming like Jesus in the way we think, feel and act.” — Collins Hasty

It is impossible to be a follower of Christ while denying, disregarding, discrediting, and disbelieving the words of Christ. — David Platt

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things and keep the ordinances as I delivered them to you.” (1 Corinthians 11:1-2)

  1. Merry Christmas little sister
Following Jesus is not always easy. He calls us to make sacrifices in our lives, to trust him in difficult circumstances etc, but it is so worthwhile

  3. Amen, Tangie! There’s a quote by Oswald Chambers that speaks of maturity being about the obedience to God, not the passing of the years. I’ve found my most blessed relationships are with those who are spiritually mature. Of course, I was and have been immature in my obedience and following and it took mature leaders working through God’s will to help “reach” me. I want to be that sane kind of teacher. I pray for you every day, sister. Family coming today through the weekend. Happy New Year! May God continue to bless you and keep you as we begin a new year. I’m wrapping you in hugs and his love. 💚🙏🏻

    1. Hello Karla, I have no doubt we all have been spiritually immature but praise God, He allowed us to live, acknowledge it through repentance and gave another day to continue increasing our knowledge to lessen spiritual immaturity. Enjoy your life no matter how difficult it is and praise God for your supportive family. I pray for your increase physical strength in 2023. Thank you always for your prayers and encouragement. I will always remember you in prayers. Have a blessed day, Karla, and keep your hands in God’s Hands.

      1. Thank you for this beautiful wisdom and message, Tangie. It touches my heart. Amen, sister! I’m saying those same prayers for you dear friend. My oldest son journeyed home. My youngest and his family are here now through weekend. I went in for bloodwork and oncology visit today. Red, White, and platelets continue to drop. I’ll go in again next week. I’m excited about new scans to see how treatments are working. Your prayers and support mean so much to me. I’ll keep you updated and may be gone for a few days as I celebrate with family more. Know you’re in my daily prayers and thoughts. 🙏🏻💕

      2. Dear Karla, you are welcome. It is good hearing from you, and I am so glad your sons and their families are getting opportunities to visit you. I hate to hear about the dropped numbers, but I will definitely continue asking God through Jesus for His divine intervention. I do pray and hope you receive good news. In the meantime, enjoy your family and return when you are able. I appreciate your support and encouragement too during such difficult time with these old bodies of ours. We will continue holding on to God unchanging Hands. Take care and rest, Karla.
