The Light of the World

“The Light shines the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5); and we must not allow darkness to overcome us.

As we get closer to the end of 2022, the time is now to truly focus on the Light of the world and our salvation. My prayer is that the world settles down and obey God’s Plan of Salvation, and for us who previously obeyed would live it. “It would have been better for [us] not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn [our] backs on the sacred command that was passed to [us].”

God said, “A dog returns to its vomit,” and “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud (2 Peter 2:21-22); like our brother Demas who loved the world and returned to it. (2 Timothy 4:10)

Years ago, I got on a roller coaster and vowed to never get on another one, and it still holds true today. Why does it seem easy to honor our personal vows, but difficult for vows made to God? In Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 it reads “When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it.”

We must flee the devil’s sinful influences! “Go now and leave your life of sin.” When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said “I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:11b-12)

The Good Morning God Prayer

This beautiful prayer was shared by Spiritual Mother Copeland from sbooksshop.com. “Good morning God! You are ushering in another day, Untouched and freshly new. So here I am to ask you, God, if you’ll renew me too. Forgive the many errors that I made yesterday. And let me try again dear God to walk closer in your way. But Lord, I am well aware I can’t make it on my own. So, take my hand and hold it tight, For I cannot walk alone.” End of Prayer

Amen. We definitely cannot walk alone in this world full of troubles and wickedness without the Light. Are we shining like the Light? If not, let us keep one another encouraged to walk the path to the Light. The Light who will never let go of His obedient children.

  1. As I was studying my lesson about how we are to be the light in John . I then get this wonderful lesson from sis Covert on your topic about how we are the light and sis you are correct we should be the light that set on top of the hill , so that everyone can see God in us and to help bring other from darkness. In 2023 we should shine so bright until darkness will need sunglasses but let us not wait until 2023 God is always ready . We just have to take the first step. Wonderful, Wonderful message and I do enjoy reading them when sister Covert send it to me. May God continue to blessed you why you blessed others with the message.

      1. Thank you so much. I feel them! It’s been tough. This treatment has been hard on me. I’ve had to go into many many quiet places with Christ to reframe my thoughts. I do not know where I’d be without Christ. It always gives me comfort to know you are walking a similar journey. We can do this with Christ as our our only hope, love, and healing.
