The Unrecognizable Car

“But the Lord said unto Sanuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart {mind}.” (1 Sanuel 16:7)

Have you ever taken your car to a body shop for repairs, touch ups or a paint job? Do you inspect it prior to driving off their site? Do you keep it washed and clean on the inside, or does the outside matter most? I have taken my car to a shop and did not recognize it outwardly after repairs were done, an amazing job. I recognized the inside because nothing had changed.

In the same manner as our soul, we should take our minds/hearts daily to the shop of God for transformation. His shop is the Bible, and His Word is designed to transform and renew our minds. Our focus is to become recognizable by our inward transformation, not what man sees. We should not be like the unrecognizable car outwardly, but instead be recognizable inwardly by God. What God see within us matters the most.
