A Much-Needed Rest

Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I say, “My foot is slipping, your unfailing love, Lord, supports me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me Joy.” (Psalm 94:17-19)

Have you been mentally or physically drained? Are you tired of living in an ungodly world? Are you tired of health issues? Do you need rest from politics, the media, the world and its shenanigans?

Are you tired of ungodly laws being passed? Are you tired of ungodly behavior being the norm even in some congregations of the Body of Christ? Are you turning negativity into joy, or are you just tired?

A couple days ago, I was so exhausted mentally and physically, I struggled to maintain enough energy to make it through the day. God knew I needed uninterrupted rest so about 7:30 PM, I suddenly experienced extreme sleepiness and went to bed about 8:00 PM; and was awakened, fully rested, by God on Wednesday morning; a much-needed rest!

‘Don’t Let Them Steal Your Joy” was my husband’s last night Bible Study lesson title. So often we allow people, situations and circumstances to steal our joy despite finding in Proverbs 17:22-23 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, a crushed spirit dries up the bones. The wicked accept bribes in secret to pervert the course of justice. A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.”

QUESTIONS TO PONDER: Do you find yourselves caught up in the presence of the Lord, in His word, or caught up in worldliness? Are you ready for much needed rest in Heaven? I am…

  1. Thank you for sharing. Most days I turn the negativity into joy but there are those days when it is hard. That’s when you know you need a much-needed rest from worldly plights. I imagine your husband’s Bible Study was really good! God bless!

    1. Hello Sandra, I sent you a text message and will post a Praise God blog on Monday morning. I love encouraging others and being encouraged on my spiritual and health journey. There are many fellow bloggers and readers who are experiencing the same and can relate, understand and encourage one another. There are others who are not dealing with health issues but offer prayers and encouragement; much needed. Thank you for reading and commenting. It helps keep me motivated when I feel like quitting, and I do feel like quitting sometimes.
