Excuses! Excuses! Excuses!

Moses! Moses! Moses! Why make excuses when God qualified and equipped you to performed what He instructed you to do?

“Moses, go lead the Israelites out of Egypt.” He responded to God “Who am I to go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? Suppose I go to the Israelites and say, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, what is His name?” God responded, “I Am Who I Am,” that is what you tell the Israelites. “I Am sent you.” (Exodus 3:10-15)

Moses had more excuses in Exodus 4:1 “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, The Lord did not appear to you?” God showed Moses signs of turning his staff into a snake and back to the staff. In Verse 6, the skin of Moses’ hand was leprous and restored. In Verse 8, God told Moses if they do not believe signs or listen to him to take some water from the Nile and pour it on dry ground and the water will become blood.

Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” Well Moses! “Moses was educated in all wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.” (Acts 7:22)

Are our excuses lies to God? In Exodus 4:12-14, God told Moses “To go, and He would help him speak and teach him what to say.” Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else”; and the Lord’s anger burned against Moses. Are we using various technological means to go? (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; and Acts 1:8)

I am thankful to ‘I Am Who I Am’ for loving me despite who I am.
