It’s very important that we re-learn the art of resting and relaxing. Not only does it help prevent the onset of many illnesses that develop through chronic tension and worrying; it allows us to clear our minds, focus, and find creative solutions to problems. — Thich Nhat Hanh
Have you ever experienced a restless soul? Do you find it difficult to rest and relax when intense pain dictate to your mind anxiousness? How do you overcome times of your soul feeling restless? (Philippians 4:4-7)
It helps when we think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable for the peace of God to be with us. (Philippians 4:8-9)
When we take Jesus’ yoke and learn from Him, we find rest for our souls. It helps when our minds are focus on the prize of Heaven citizenship.

Who helps when troublesome times consume your soul? Sister Copeland sent these encouraging words and prayer. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (Isaiah 43:2)
Dear Lord, Thank you for this amazing promise from you. I need not worry for you are my protector and will keep me safe even amidst the trials.
Thank you for this great reminder! Sometimes it’s hard to not be anxious, to not try and take control of our lives. But God is so much better at leading us than we are. We all need to practice resting in his presence, I actually just wrote a post about finding solitude with God. You might enjoy it.
