The Silent Hunter

“Be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaming lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him steadfast in the faith knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Do you like watching animal shows? I especially like seeing lions together defend their territory and lionesses’ hunting strategies to subdue prey of different size and strength. It amazes me how aggressively their prey tries to flee for their life. Most interesting is how lionesses who do most of the hunting wait until they get close to their prey before charging towards them in a well-coordinated teamwork effort with grace and agile moves.

Getting close to us is how Satan prepares his demonic forces in different sizes and strength to aggressively entice us in becoming his prey, especially those young in the faith and those who still lack biblical knowledge and spiritual strength. The devil finds it fascinating how easy it is to dispatch his demons to conquer and subdue prey, weak Christians. It would be fascinating to see Christians globally in a unified team working together like lions and lionesses. What are your thoughts?

Sadly, not all of us attempt to get out of the mouth of Satan but instead return to the world like our former brother-in-Christ, Demas, and many other perhaps we personally know. This is why we need graceful and coordinated teams with true and pure motives to help strengthen one another. Sister Copeland shared “If the Kingdom of God is in you, you should leave little bit of Heaven wherever you go.” — Cornel West
