Restless Soul (Be Still And Be Silent)

Be still (KJV). Be silent (NIV) before the Lord, all mankind, because He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling. (Zechariah 2:13)

A restless soul is defined as a soul that longs and searches for something deeper, something meaningful and something purposeful. Some seek fulfillment in worldliness and believe it is acceptable to God if they straddle the fence for a moment of pleasure. We forget it takes only a moment to die in sin and sealing our fate unable to repent.

Solomon’s stated in Ecclesiastes 8:9-17; 12:13, “I have thought deeply about all that goes on here under the sun. Here is my final conclusion: “Fear God and obey His commands.” In verse 8:13 it was said “Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them.”

Perhaps we are disappointed because the truth is not what people want to hear. We plant the seed; God ensures someone waters it for those genuinely seeking truth and He will give the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:6)

Allow your soul to rest, be still, be silent and watch how God handles His business. Do not involve ourselves in foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once and then warn a second time. After that have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned. (Titus 3:9-11)

  1. It sure is getting intensely hot under the sun these days. Now is the time to fear God and obey Him. Revelation 16:8-10 says that the sun’s heat is associated with the collapse of today’s world.
Thanks again for the inspiration to serve God through Jesus Christ.

  2. This is a much needed message for me. I, too, am a bit restless because I am in my comeback season. Sometimes things are not happening as fast as you want, but I also realize that I need to heal. Therefore, God has me right on time. Great message. Thank you for being of service. God bless.
