“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world, A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:13-14)
On Saturday, July 20, 2019, I was afforded the opportunity to speak at a Ladies Day Program in my home state of Alabama. The theme was Sisters Abiding in Light and Truth. Today, the blog is titled “Saints Abiding in Light and in Truth (SALT).” On same day in 2019, Spiritual Mother Sister Copeland’s devotion read “Divine Light helps me see good everywhere and in everyone. I look beyond conflict and limitation and find the good that is always mine to discover.”
Her devotion continues with “Welcome challenging times as opportunities to trust Me. You have Me beside you and My Spirit within you, so no set of circumstances is too much for you to handle. When paths before you are dotted with difficulties beware of measuring your strength against those challenges. The calculation is certain to riddle you with anxiety. Without Me, you wouldn’t make it past the first hurdle!”
We are definitely living in challenging times! As Saints Abiding in Light and Truth do our faith measure up to the strength of God during raging storms and challenges in our life and in our nations? Do your anxieties supersede His strength? Do we have enough faith in God that we are willing to allow Him to sustain us pass the first hurdle? Sister Copeland’s devotion reminds us to welcome challenges as opportunities to trust God.
