Is The Word Heart The Same As The Mind?

The heart is an example of emotional thinking, whereas the mind is an example of logical thinking. The heart controls our feelings and emotions, while mind refers to an entity that allows us to think and help us in making logical and rational decisions. The heart is preferred when decisions are taken about human relationships.

It has been said that a positive attitude is linked to better health, a better heart and a better mindset. The words heart and mind are interchangeable. However, God is more interested in our mind.

Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed with a renewed mind.” Our heart cannot be transformed like the mind.

“For the word of God is quick and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints/ marrow, and is discerner of thoughts/intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life, again this verse is referring to the mind. (Proverb 4:23) The Lord does not look at the things we look at. We look outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart, in other word, the mind. (1 Samuel 16:7)

We have come to share in Christ, if we hold our original conviction to the very end. “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your [mind] as you did in the rebellion. (Hebrews 3:12-15)

What does scripture say about the heart? It is deceitful above all things; wicked and only God knows it and searches the heart (Jeremiah 17:9-10).

We must ensure our minds are transformed. It is imperative that we do not allow Satan’s influence to cause us to fall into the category of unbelieving hearts that turns away from the living God. We must encourage one another daily so our mind does not convince the heart to be hardened by sin. This concludes blogging theme on the heart [mind].

Is The Word Heart The Same As The Mind? Matthew 22:37-38 tells us to love God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. This scripture reads “heart and mind”; therefore, they cannot be the same.
