“The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
I have been suffering from chronic pain and multiple health issues since my accident in 2009. Lately, my right shoulder and neck have been hurting tremendously and a recent MRI and visit to the orthopedic surgeon revealed the reason. My pain was unbearable yesterday and I prayed without ceasing asking God to help me.
When He woke me up this morning all I could remember from last night was entering the bedroom at 9:02 PM. I slept all night and woke up pain free. To the best of my memory since 2009, I have had probably 200 days without any pain (200 days pain free out of 13 years). This morning no migraine! No shoulder pain! No neck pain! For the first time in about six months my blood pressure was 133/79; previous readings were higher.

I am cherishing this day and praising God for giving me relief. One day of no pain is like an eternity. This post was scheduled for Friday morning, but I am sharing my thankfulness to God on this day and sharing with you how He intervene when it was necessary although He sustains me daily.
Good morning, Tangie.
I am happy to know you are pain free at the time of this writing. I pray the pain free days continue.
The peace of God will never fail us as you already know. I am strengthened by your blogs of a thorn-filled journey of pain, faith in God, and the strength he allows you to keep portraying as an actual Christian role model daily. By looking at you physically, no one would think the terrain in your journey amassed such jagged edges and deep pot-holes.
Thank you for allowing God to use you as an example of patience.

Thank you so much Pat for your encouraging and uplifting words. You sound like some of my physicians saying looking at me no one could ever imagine what is happening internally. One of them asked if I would be on a “No Opioids Poster” and speak about handling pain without opioids. It is definitely a journey I could not walk without God. After 13 years it is part of my life–my thorn in the flesh without complaining. Enjoy the rest of your day and remain safe.

That is very good news. They say there’s an opioid crisis, but I think it is more of a pain crisis, that is a lot of pain. I’m glad you have relief from yours. I feel happy for you. The music is excellent. Thanks for the inspiring post.

Since 2009, I took six opioids out of 30 pills after back surgery in 2015. Those pills took my mind to another world; I did not like that feeling. Therefore, I refuse to take them and allow God to sustain me through my pain. I had pain injection and schedule for one next month, but they are nothing like opioids.
