In The Secret (I Want To Know You Lord)

“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

We can hide our sins from one another, but we cannot hide them from God regardless of the high walls we built within our minds.

In Deuteronomy 29:29, the Bible reads “The secret things belong to the LORD our GOD, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.”

Matthew 24:43-44 tells us “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

So, it behooves us to adhere and obey the Gospel of Jesus because the next moment is not promise to us. “You know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night” (I Thessalonians 5:2).

Will our secret gardens be scripturally fertilized and ready for the second coming Jesus, or have our minds been neglected and overrun with worldly weeds? Are we planting seeds from the gospel of Jesus to lead people to Him? Can Jesus spiritually harvest what we planted in our Secret Gardens?

Like an unkept earthly garden by sluggards, are we dead in Christ? “I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.’

‘I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.'” (Proverbs 24:30-34)

FINAL THOUGHT

How do you want to know the Lord? Openly or in the so-called “Secret Garden?” Remember Mark 8:38 “If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
