The most common cause of an absent reflex response is peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy is a disorder in which the nerves malfunction because they are damaged or destroyed. An illness or injury can destroy or damage your nerves.
I have peripheral neuropathy in my legs, feet, arms and hand. I have no reflex response in my right arm and a minimum reflex in my right leg. I noticed my right leg and foot were worsening but I did not think too much of it because pain and numbness are part of my life.
I became concern on yesterday after discovering an open cut under one of my toes from a broken mirror several days ago. Several days ago, with no feeling to warn me of the cut. Scary????? However…
I have an upcoming appointment with the orthopedic surgeon to discuss my back/neck and the need for updated EMG/NCS since the neuropathy has worsen. I am also meeting next week another orthopedic surgeon to discuss today’s MRI results of my right shoulder.
Some days I am exhausted from health issues. However, I carry on with minimum complaints and with a smile talking to God and appreciating Him for His constant love and for sustaining me in this troublesome world.
Despite whatever comes my way, I will not allow anything or anyone to turn me around from where I am heading on my spiritual journey. There is a crown of life waiting for me. What about you?
