Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. (Hebrews 9:28)

I worked with many people in my thirty-four years of federal service. However, two of them stood out because they were younger, single, focused on higher education and getting promoted quickly through the officers’ ranks. They had no children, and each was an only child. Our unhealthy meals never deterred them from eating their healthy meals nor from their serious exercise regimes. Are you thinking stress-free lives?
I have no doubt these young men thought they would retire and live long lives. Sadly, there was something on the inside slowly killing them. One died of a massive heart attack and one of cancer. We were speechless! It was sad watching each mother bury her only child. My heart was saddened more because they gave no thought of a relationship with God nor for the salvation of their souls.
My husband’s sermon titled ‘A Man Has Nothing If He Has Everything But God’ reminded me of these two young, deceased men.

Sometimes we have no idea what is happening on the inside of our bodies. In 2008, I was diagnosed with Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS) and Chronic Iron Deficiency Anemia. I have had many eight hours iron infusions and prescribed and over-the-counter iron supplements. However, my body cannot adequately absorb iron.
On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, my oncologist/hematologist informed me that my M-protein spiked twice within three months; not good. Each year about 1% of people with MGUS develop certain types of blood cancers or other serious diseases such as Multiple Myeloma, Light Chain Amyloidosis, Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia and Lymphoma and is commonly treated with radiation therapy.
I have abnormal Plasma Cells and if the spike continues, with other signs, it will be treated as Multiple Myeloma with radiation. Yes, I am concern but I do not worry about my physical body. I think more about what is on the inside of me that can kill the salvation of my soul. Jesus is returning any day now and I want to be ready. In peace, I will lie down and sleep for He alone make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8)

Our spiritual talk must match our spiritual walk. — Tangie T. Woods
SCRIPTURE TO PONDER
Let us walk by the Spirit to not gratify the desire of the flesh which is contrary to the Spirit. We need to rid everything on the inside that could cause us to lose the salvation of our soul. (Galatians 5:16-26)

Thank you Georgetta, I believe transparency is important to encourage one another to keep the faith despite our physical circumstances. I started blogging in June 2019 as an outlet but it has turned into a blessing. I could not ask to be in a better blogging community.
