Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. (Hebrews 9:28)

In my thirty-four years of federal service there were two men who stood out. They were young, single, highly educated and quickly promoted through the officers’ ranks. They were childless and each was an only child. Are you thinking stress-free lives?
Our unhealthy lunchtime meals never deterred them from their healthy meals or deviated from their daily exercise regimes. I have no doubt these young men believed they would have long, happy and prosperous lives.
Sadly, without their knowledge in time to seek medical intervention, there was something on the inside killing their bodies and souls. One died from a massive heart attack and the other one from terminal cancer.

We were speechless and it was sad watching each mother bury her only child. My heart ached because they gave no thought to having a relationship with God to save the salvation of their souls.
My husband’s sermon, A Man Has Nothing If He Has Everything But God, reminds me of the two young, deceased men. We sometimes have no idea what is happening on the inside of our bodies.
For example, some of my diagnoses were discovered “By chance” according to physicians. However, I give all praise and glory to God that diagnoses were in time for proper medical action and treatment.

FINAL THOUGHT
Sister Copeland’s verse of the day is “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We must encourage one another to continue examining ourselves to ensure there is nothing rotten on the inside that is costing our souls’ salvation.
SCRIPTURE TO PONDER
“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits–who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” (Psalm 103:2-3)
Praise the Lord. This post is beautiful, thank you. May the Lord keep you, bless you and cause His face to shine upon you. May you always feel His Spirit leading and guiding you. May you feel the fullness of His love for you. In Jesus’ name.
