“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on His laws day and night. That person is like a tree planted by steams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatsoever they do prosper. Not so the wicked! They are chaff that the wind blows away.” (Psalm 1:1-4)

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; it leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.’
‘The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.’” (Jeremiah 17:7-10)
I was an avid reader of Harlequin Romance and Nancy Drew Mystery Stories in my youth and young adulthood. I took “avid reading” to the extreme sometimes putting off Bible reading and studying. In Dear Younger Me, I would change the younger me to become a Christian in my youth. https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/110346396/posts/3683182340
When I learned better, I did better. My life began to change. I began to be prosperous as I matured and fully understood the importance of spiritual priorities and obedience. “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” (James 4:17)

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” — Maya Angelou
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
FINAL THOUGHT
I do not read as much but I do enjoy watching British Mysteries and British Law Enforcement programs but not before I enjoy my time with God. Are you rooted and grounded in the Word of God as the dear thirsts for water?
Thanks for the reminder. I love Psalm 1. It’s very grounding.
