Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. (Proverb 27:1) This is the blog I finished last Tuesday night fifteen minutes prior to leaving home for the Emergency Room. Today, I saw the hand surgeon and added the visit’s results at the end of the blog.

“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given unto you. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry for itself. Each day has enough trouble of it owns.” Only God embraces the secrets of tomorrow so let us choose to live for Him today. God, not mankind, holds tomorrow in His hands and things might not go as we plan but as God determines.
The surgeon attempted to reopen last Tuesday’s wound to flush out bacteria because external signs still showed infection. Unfortunately, it was too infected that no amount of Lidocaine injected allowed the finger to numb. A more aggressive surgery to remove bacteria, fluid and pus is schedule for tomorrow, Lord willing, at one of the the nation’s best orthopedic surgical centers.
I had hoped, and prayed, as many of did on my behalf that another procedure would not be required. This injury is a perfect example of never knowing what tomorrow will bring–including the second coming of Jesus. Are you ready for His return?
