Worries Don’t Worry. Why Should We?

Perhaps most of us, if not all, are going through something with our health, bereavement, financial difficulties, spiritual and mental issues or family problems. However, we must remember the GOD we worship is bigger than anything we could face in this world; even though it appears otherwise. We should learn to focus on GOD’s beautiful creation to help ease worried minds.

The verb definition of worry is to give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulties and troubles. The noun definition is a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems. As Christians, when our minds are focused on people, things and troubles we lose sight of the Great I AM, and our problems could become what we worship.

We do not want to become vain worshippers with thoughts overshadowing our worship to GOD. When I was a young widow with three minor children, including a six-year old with Autism, there were many people and things that I allowed to worry me to weighing 99 pounds.

When I totally surrender my life to GOD, I inherited a Christian family who helped me during some of the darkest days of my life. It did not stop there! He blessed me with a GOD fearing husband who still today boldly preaches the Gospel and our children were blessed with a wonderful father who loves them very much.

Think about it! Has worrying ever resolved anything in your life? If anything perhaps it compound problems. For the sake of our souls, we must break free from the chain of worries. Again, it is okay to be concern and to handle our business during troubled times. However, when we need GOD’s intervention, we must pray and trust Him to do what He promised. We must stop activating our minds to worry.

FINAL THOUGHT

We must choose to think more about our Heavenly Farther than about our problems. Surrender and allow the Comforter to comfort and guide us through LIFE.

    1. I do. You would not believe some things I endured. I am contemplating writing my story. I thank GOD for His grace and mercy and for sustaining me through my struggles.

  1. Hi Tangie,
The key word “surrender “! We have to understand the importance of that word and practice it also, in Hebrews 13:5(scripture reads)
“I will Never leave you nor forsake thee.” I am thankful to God for bringing you to a joyous state in your life during those years and I thank God for your wisdom.

    1. Thank you Mary, all for His Glory and to encourage and uplift others and to encouraged and uplifted. We sometimes hide our scares giving false appearances that problems do not exist in our lives after we choose to become followers of Jesus; people have told me this was their reason for returning to the world. Suffering is real but GOD sustains us when hold on to His unchanging hands and not be like our Brother Demas returning to the world.
