“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had not root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop-a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.” (Matthew 13:3-9)

“It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up the plants were scorched and they withered because they had not root.” Matthew 13:3-9 reminds me of an old tree that was originally planted in our front yard by the builder’s landscaping company.
My husband, Felton, and I, noticed no growth so he pulled it up with no effort because it was planted superficially. We bought another tree that was deeply planted, rooted, and it produced a few beautiful pink blossoms. However, it died after I pruned it prior to being told not to prune it; but we didn’t pull it up for seeing new life.
How could different types of trees grow from the same hole? The same way the fruits of the Spirit and the lust of the flesh simultaneously grow and battle in our minds.

“You were taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like GOD in true righteousness and holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor; for we are members one of another.” (Ephesians 4:22-25)
The third tree describes how we should flourish in wisdom, in knowledge, in understanding, and in obedience of the Word of GOD for spiritual growth. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creations have come. The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We shouldn’t allow sin to root in our minds and cost our soul’s eternal death. The current photos below show rapid growth of the third tree that GOD allowed to grow.

FINAL THOUGHT
Can we be recognize by the fruits we bare, or don’t bare? Are we allowing ungodliness to spring up quickly in our lives because we are superficially planted in the Word? “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only GOD who makes things grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:7)

Loved how you explained this “We should not allow sin to root in our minds and cost our soul’s eternal death”.
And yes, as you said, the same place and same soil can give us different results at different times. How perfectly explained!

God is definitely not mocked and nothing is hidden from Him.
Great analogy of different trees growing from the same hole. 😍

Nature becomes favourable for plants to grow. Nature of humans also depends upon the environment where they grow. Environment and surroundings teach lot to a person. A person who understands beyond his nature is called wisdom. You have been bestowed with great spiritual understanding.

Great post with a wonderful message. It’s all about how you do something and where your heart is. The same soil produced different results just like in life the same things can have different results depending on how we handle them and whether or not we maintain our faith.
