Wearing A MASK Is A Requirement For Me

Each person has their own thought, feeling, choice and opinion about the vaccine and whether to wear a mask or not in public. I am sharing in my non-debatable blog what I choose to do and my own reasons for doing so.

I wear a mask because it is essential to protect my health and the health of others. Therefore, to love my neighbors as myself I choose to wear a mask, to practice social distancing and follow all guidelines of the CDC.

I have several medical conditions and a compromise immune system; and I have no doubt others have underlying medical conditions but are not aware of them.

Had I not been hospitalized in 2016 for another condition, I would not have known I had Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 2. I was NOT informed of this condition while hospitalized. Instead, I discovered diagnosis when I accessed my online medical record.

Had I not been referred to a hematologist/oncologist in 2008, I would not have known I had Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS). MGUS is a condition in which an abnormal protein known as monoclonal protein, or M protein, is in the blood. Therefore, I have scheduled quarterly lab and doctor’s appointments at the Cancer Center.

MGUS is usually detected by chance when you have a blood test for another condition. Some people with MGUS go on to develop certain types of blood cancers or other serious diseases such as: Light Chain Amyloidosis, Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia, Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.

Regardless, I am thankful to GOD for allowing mankind the technological and medical knowledge and advancements to care for the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

I had a minor procedure this week that resulted in the discovery of two polyps and another condition. Lord willing, I get results on August 4th when I see my hematologist/oncologist.

Someone once asked me why do I publicly share my health conditions. I told the person my blog was originally started as an outlet for me because I was dealing with many health issues. But once I got over my pity party, I understand that others might not be as vigilant when it comes to their own health, or health care, or some might be unware of underlying conditions having no symptoms in early stages.

I share for awareness in hope of encouraging others to be their own health care advocate. However, I was later inspired to incorporate the Gospel of Jesus.

FINAL THOUGHT

I still take my health and the health of others in consideration even thought I am fully vaccinated.

  3. Praying to GOD for your healing Tangie! GOD heals! Echoing your call, wearing a mask (sometimes double masks with face shield) and following health guidelines should also be done out of courtesy; being courteous to one’s neighbors as a Christian especially with this potent delta variant. Blessings to you, your family, and your ministry!

    1. Thank you. Amen, GOD heals and sustains us. I will implement double masking and get up early on Saturday morning to be the first customer. I have to protect myself and will definitely minimize my time in public. Thank GOD I have been able to telework. Be safe.

    1. Thank you for reading and sharing your comments. I limit going out in public because usually I am the only person wearing a mask, sometimes one or two other people. From now on I will be the first person inside stores on Saturday mornings. Stay safe.

  5. I admire and respect your opinion. Bless you Tangie you have many challenges and strong faith. We too follow the CDC guidelines. Many people are choosing not to be vaccinated. We are both fully vaccinated but I know families who have refused to be vaccinated. We could also be carriers. I pray your results are negative my friend. I will and have prayed for you. Sending you love and God’s Grace. ❤️🤗😘Love Joni

  6. Good for you. We have been seeing an uptake in the infections, yet they present for treatment, no masks, no vaccines, no cares. If when they are given masks, it is pulled under the chins or under the nose. Often frustrating.
Glad to know you are keeping well.
