Would your temple be ready if Jesus knocked on the door during an unannounced visit? If not, would you tell Him to wait outside until you tidy up? Or would you tell Jesus to reschedule? As Christians, why would we not be ready for a visit from Jesus?

Is it because we are in the midst of sin or in an unrepented state? Are we harboring hatred and malice in our hearts? What about jealousy? Pride? Envious? An unforgiving spirit? Would we rush and mop away lustful thoughts? Would we run to cover the entrance with a rug to hide hypocrisy?
Jesus told us in John 14:3 that He was going to prepare a place for us in Heaven. I believe Him! Therefore, for the salvation of our soul we must scripturize the temple that houses the gift of the Holy Spirit.

How? We can decorate and accessorize our temple with remaining steadfast in the faith that we profess (I Corinthians 15:58). We can decorate and accessorize not being overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). We can decorate and accessorize with joy when we fall into divers’ temptations knowing the test of our faith worketh patience (James 1:2-4).
We can decorate and accessorize with thankfulness unto the Lord (Psalm 118:1). We can decorate and accessorize with keeping His laws and seeing Him with our whole heart (Psalm 119:2). We can decorate and accessorize with keeping God’s commands (John 14:15). We can decorate and accessorize with loving one another (John 15:12). We can decorate and accessorize our conversation to be without covetousness (Hebrews 13:5-6).

CONCLUSION
I like the music to a song by Richard Hawley titled Open Up Your Door. The first verse is “Open up your door, I can’t see your face no more. Love is so hard to find and even harder to define.”
As Christians, we know God’s love is not hard to find or hard to define. This is love in Mark 15:33-47. There is so much more in His Word that we can use to decorate and accessorize our temple if we search the Scriptures like the Bereans in Acts 17:11.

This post reminded me of a Song I heard growing up. “If Jesus Came To Your House”. Here is a link to the lyrics: http://www.godswork.org/enpoem4.htm
The song is on YouTube sung by Porter Wagoner.

I like this Tangie, scripturize. Thanks a lot for your empowering sermon. It’s easy to hold something against the world or dwell in continuous sin today and I pray for grace, not just for myself but everyone – grace to overcome and keep put temples clean for Christ’s coming because He is coming!

Great message! Definitely gives food for thought when you think about Jesus dropping by for an unannounced visit. I’d like to think that even if I was in an unrepentant state or in the midst of sin that I would still open the door with a repentant heart and not make Him wait. Love what you said about Scripturizing the temple. That is something we should all do on a daily basis. Thank you for such an encouraging word! God bless! ❤
