Christians And The Polluted World

Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)

I, as well as many other Christians, refuse to be complicit in worldly rhetoric from spiritually blinded people nor should we allow ourselves to be drawn into ungodly shame. Some Christians were publicly known to being complicit in ungodly behavior in agreement with what is contrary to biblical commandments.

A couple of weeks ago, I made a negative comment about someone and my husband immediately brought it to my attention for correction. He thought more about my soul and following God’s instructions than my feelings. As Christians we must be bold to tell one another the truth and not oppose righteous judging and correction.

In one of my husband’s recent sermon he said “Christians should be clean water pouring out into a polluted world. We need more godliness in our nation, in our home and individually.” We definitely need more godliness in the Body of Christ to water the world with the gospel of Jesus. “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (I John 4:4-6)

Do you know dirty Christians who pollute the world with evil spirits? Do we claim to be in the light but hate our brother or sister? Are we blindly following those who walk in darkness and think going incognito is shelter from God’s sight? Are we willing to drink the dirty water below? If not, why are we willing to give it to those who need to be saved from this untoward generation?

The sermon reminded me of a stomach virus I contracted in 2008. Once diagnosed, I was told the bacteria was found in dirty water in third world countries. Even though all three sources of water I drank were filtered one of them had hidden contaminates. Converted Christians need to be clean water without contaminates pouring out into the world righteousness for transformation. “If we do not care about following God’s laws why should anyone else?” — Facebook Post

We are all created in the image of God and birth through Adam and Eve. God has this to say to us “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you: for you have hidden your face from us and have given us over to our sins.” (Isaiah 64: 6)

As children of God we need to be the biblical clean water filtration system for the world without praising God and curing mankind. (James 3:9-11). If we do not care about following His laws, why should the world?

Closing with Sister Copeland’s devotion titled ‘Let Them Choose.’ The scripture used is I Kings 3:28, “When the people of Israel heard about King Solomon’s decision, they respected him very much. They saw he had wisdom from God to make the right decisions.” Lord, is it hard to watch us make our own choices, especially when we get it wrong? I sit in what little wisdom I have, wishing I could choose the path for those I see repeating my mistakes–and it nearly does me in.

Just as you allow my mistakes, help me allow them theirs! Lord, guide the choices of the people I love. Let them listen as wisdom is offered, but then give me peace as you let them choose whether or not to hear it. Remind me how I got here, through flames, and that you’ll be with them in the furnace as well. Do you ask God to help you make the right choices?

God will be with us when we are with Him in Spirit and Truth not as dirty Christians! — Tangie T. Woods

  1. Hi Tangie,
I was going to say exactly what Leslie, stated in comments, in additional to that, God desires for us to have The BOLDNESS, to demonstrate and teach; Love, honesty, purity to the errring Christian and unbelievers. I think about what was written to the Church in Colossians 2:1-10 with the emphasis on verse 6 -8! God is going to hold Christians accountable!

    1. Amen sister. Thank you for reading and commenting. In a conversation with Brother Woods this morning I thought about our topic and stated that the world is not governed by the gospel, but Christians are, and since we (not all) are silently sitting and allowing the world to take over perhaps it is us He is angry with! You are exactly right about BOLDNESS; we are bold in everything else. I appreciate your feedback and have a wonderful and safe rest of your day.

  2. Tangie, Sister, how right you are! I am still upset about all this election stuff, still amazed at how Christians voted in California. Really. I will not get into it. I will say, all this playing church and caring for people is going to come right back on “the church,” if, like Jesus said, “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5:20
There are so many angry Christians, and angry people.
2020 has made some very angry and hateful people.
What we have been seeing here, is a GREAT falling away, and a GREAT coming to Christ.
But those that come to Christ, converted Christians, need to be lead. They need direction and sometimes they seek it from the wrong people and are led astray. So we need to pray.
Pray that when these new converts turn to God, they will have leaders that are spiritual. Not harboring bitterness and hatred. That can lead in a way that pleases God.
satan, the ruler of all wickedness in this world will continue to pollute it, and attempt to draw people away from Christ. But as the Church prays together and seeks the face of God, we are never defeated. We are always VICTORIOUS.

    1. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughtful insight. You are absolutely right “But those that come to Christ, converted Christians, need to lead.” Perhaps us not taking the lead is the reason God is angry. We are governed by His laws; the world is not. Enjoy the rest of your day and be safe.

  3. Thank you, Tangie, for having the strength, faith and honesty in writing this post. I pray that God will keep me clean inside and not allow worldly sin to bruise and batter who I am in Jesus.

    1. Lesley, thank you for reading and commenting. I used to believe as a Christian that I should remain silent and not speak on secular issues. Of course our speech must be seasoned with godliness. As I matured, I understood Christians need to be on the front line evangelizing and speaking against injustices. In doing so perhaps more people will obey the gospel and the world will be less polluted. We live in a polluted world and are affected negatively as Christians by man made laws. If we do not speak out there is no need to complain. Change is in the air now we must pray it happens! Have a great weekend and remain safe.

  4. Amen! Thank you for sharing such an interesting post. Like the scribes and the Pharisees we should not be overly concerned about washing the outside of the cup whilst forgeting about the inside (Matt. 23:25-26). I hope and pray that clean water may nourish the crop in the USA and that more faithful gatherers may be raised up to collect the harvest. God bless you 🙂

    1. Thank you for reading, commenting and sharing additional scriptures. Americans definitely need prayers for solidarity and healing. As I watch the news the coronavirus has surged in all 50 states in record breaking numbers. God is Angry! Yet, people still refuse to repent; therefore, we all suffer consequences living in a wicked world. God bless you and remain safe.

  5. Thank you for writing this post! I was beginning to think that the whole of Christendom had lost their minds. Just today I told my best friend,” they have lost the moral authority”. I don’t understand how they can stand behind the holy desk to preach against sin. They themselves complicit in so much that is wrong. Again, thank you so much for writing this post!!

    1. You are welcome and thank you for reading. I am with you not understanding how they can stand boldly preaching and teaching God’s Word with so much hatred in their hearts. But then again wolves in sheep clothing. Have a great night and remain safe.
