“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
I’ve got your back” is a phrase we all have heard and told someone. Have you been told “I got your back?” If so, did anyone fail to come through when you needed them?

Some Christians do not think GOD have their back based on questions and comments that I have heard and read. For example, why is GOD punishing us with a global pandemic that has killed millions with daily deaths increasing? Why does He allow babies, children and innocent people to be killed? Someone even told me that GOD and religion are the worst things to happen to mankind. Unfortunately, many cannot see that man-made religions and our disobedience to GOD are the two worst things that have happen to us. However, the very worse thing to happen to mankind will be judgment of our soul being sentence to Hell. And we have the nerve to question GOD! A GOD that can kill our body and soul. Wow!
Why? Why? Why? Why? The question to ask is why are we still disobedient to GOD’s Commandments after we have been forewarned before the first world was destroyed? Perhaps there would be fewer questions, or false charges against GOD, if Bibles were open and we exercise discipline in studying what thus said the LORD. My husband said in one of his recent Bible studies that when we add and take away from GOD’s Commandments that we are making a bold statement to GOD that His commandments are insufficient. The Gospel of Jesus is not something we can order our way as though we are going through a fast food restaurant drive through for service.
It is my belief that we are suffering the consequences and afflictions of disobedient children. Christianity does not resolve us from being affected by what is happening in the world. However, I do believe that GOD has the back of His obedient and faithful children through afflictions. Many have said to me “I’ve got your back” but instead turned their back and walked away. I have no doubt that in my lifetime I did the same to others. This is why GOD tells us in many scriptures not to put our trust and faith in mere humans.
Many of you know about my back issues and that I have had many thankful temporary relief pain injections throughout the years. On October 22, 2020, for the first time since my accident in 2009, I had eight steroid injections in my back nerves. However, when the anesthesia wore off later that evening all I could do was cry out to GOD and think about what I had done to myself for making the decision to get steroid injections. I have a very high tolerance for pain but I had never experienced such excruciating pain in my life! My prayer to my Father was a distress call for His intervention. By the third day, He allowed the pain to subside giving His daughter some relief. I was grateful and confident that He had my back and would not forsake me. (Hebrews 13:5b)

“So be careful to do what the LORD your GOD has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in obedience to all that the LORD our GOD has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.” (Deuteronomy 5:32-33)
Deuteronomy 5:32-33 remind me of my spine specialist’s instructions to not twist and turn my body from side to side but to always maintain a straight standing and sitting posture to prevent further spine damage. Ouch! I definitely do not want that to happen! This is what we ought to do with biblical commandments. How? Maintain a straight and firm stand in the Word of GOD. Biblical commandments are our preventive care to save our soul salvation without problems when our knees bow before GOD on Judgment Day. It is imperative that we are not sidetracked by tactics of the devil and his demonic personnel. “Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.” (Proverbs 4:27)
Conclusion, GOD’s Word should always be in our sight. Saints, be mindful that we must continue paying attention to what GOD instructed and not look to the right or left to see what others are doing. When someone else’s behavior gets our attention they become our focus instead of saving our own soul salvation from this untoward generation and leading the lost to Christ. “My son [daughter], pay attention to what I say, turn your ears to My words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.” (Proverbs 4:20-22)
Do you believe that GOD has your back?
Thanks for reminding us that God has the backs of all his faithful children. At times it might seem as if He does not, but continue to hold to His unchanging hand and in the end we will be victorious. Keep up the great work,Tangie.

This is very true Tangie. Personally everyday when I wake up, I always have this at the back of my mind “GOD LOVES ME MORE THAN I EVEN LOVE MYSELF” Regardless of what may happen, his love is constant and can’t change.
People should also realize that love is a revelation. To be fully convinced that your loved by God, it should be revealed to your spirit. Because God is love.

Yes, I believe. God is not delighted in the strength of the horse nor legs of men. Only those who do know their God (not mortal man) shall be strong and do exploits.

Thank you for sharing this. I was unaware of the trouble with your back, but I will be praying for you. I know God definitely has our back. He has our all. As you said, we live in a sinful broken world of our own doing and yet, we can cling to Jesus, knowing His is able to carry us through. I completely agree, we need to cling to Christ and His Word. Again, thank you for sharing. God bless.

Thanks for the reminder – God always has my/our back/s. We’re however quick to forget or doubt when we’re faced with life challenges. That, to me, is our humanity (soul) wrestling with our divinity (spirit). Being a work-in-progress working towards “though He slays me, yet will I trust Him ..!” (Job 13:15a)

Yes, I know God has my back! I remember Job how Satan would go before God accusing that Job would curse God if God didn’t have a wall of protection around him. Finally, God allowed Satan to attack everything in Job’s life, all, except taking his life. The Scripture says: Job 2:10: But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
I suffer greatly like you with a horrible back, now facing a hip replacement. I have my moments but Job comes into my mind. Yes, I know that God has my back!

Job is an excellent example. Thank you for sharing and commenting. How long have you been suffering with back issues? I hate to hear about your possible hip replacement and hope that surgery can be avoided. Thank you for reading and commenting and remain safe.

I have been suffering with my back since the late eighties due to a motor bike accident. I was the passenger, I was thrown onto the highway. When I landed on my behind it ripped everything away from my spine. Last year I had cortisone shots and they have worked. The hip surgery is a must for it has been totally destroyed.
I truly love reading your blog and keep on fighting the good fight of faith!
