Have you ever procrastinated when it came to exercising? What were your excuses? How did you overcome procrastination? After I was injured in 2009, I have spent approximately three years total in physical and massage therapy. I have also received many injections to relieve back pain. A year ago, I was told that a representative, from one of my health insurance companies, informed my physicians that I need to be on a weight loss plan to relieve pressure off my back.
Unfortunately, procrastination and excuses became my friends since I was in too much pain to exercise. Lately, I understood the seriousness of losing weight for health reasons, and lessons from our four years old granddaughter who sticks to me like glue. She imitates my behavior and repeats almost every word that proceeds from my mouth. She often tells me that she wants to be just like me with and without pain. For example, she walks through the house with hands on her back saying it hurts. She imitates me pretending to be struggling to get out of bed, or out of a chair. She sits at my desk in front of the laptop pretending to be typing while looking at me saying “I want to be just like you mom.” I had to change my behavior in reaction to pain in her presence. My behavior modification should also teach her to not imitate people, but follow the Lord. “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Do you know God would love for us to imitate the behavior of Jesus when He walked on earth as a man? Have you witness Christians displaying no shame of ungodly behavior on social media? Do you think some social media is toxic to Christians? What are your thoughts on Christians misbehaving? In my opinion, it is shameful when minister, including my husband, have to get on social media to teach, and preach, about Christians misbehaving. Noted in Matthew 18:6, “If we cause another to stumble, it would be better for us to have a millstone hung around our neck and be drown in the depths of the sea.”
Back to my exercise procrastination! Well! Well! Guess what my husband purchased three weeks ago, a treadmill. At first, I was intimidated by its size and numerous features. So, what do you think I did? Started making excuses why I could not use it. My husband’s motto is “There is nothing to it but to do it.” It even has a safety measure that connects to me to turn off immediately should I fall. The first week I used it three times for thirty minutes burning one hundred calories. The second week I looked at it and imagined that I was on it. This week starting on Sunday, 11th, I have exercised daily for an hour, walking three plus miles in ten to twelve laps, and burning three hundred plus calories. What a struggle! Perhaps others are intimidated by the Word of God because opinions, personal thoughts, feelings and beliefs are injected.

Our spiritual treadmill also has a safety measure called the Bible to prevent us from falling into sin. The spiritual treadmill also comes with a bonus safety feature with the blood of Jesus to connect us to Him, and prevents us from spiritually failing in a fallen world.
Physical exercise and therapy, in the beginning, intensified my pain but eventually subsided until it was time for more physical therapy sessions. In my opinion, we experience resistant from painful spasms when killing the old self and transforming into a new life in Christ. Struggles are real because change does not happen overnight due to our sinful nature wanting to take the lead, and prevent the SON Light from shining in the dark world.
I needed continued physical therapy and injections to help subside my back pain. In like manner, we need continued biblical injections, and spiritual therapy, to help subside the pain of transforming our carnal mind to a spiritual mind. This is the one area our soul cannot afford procrastination. Biblical injections of the word of God also help us stand firm when the devil activates his demonic forces to attack us. We must let our light shine before others that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

Should we not vigorously work out to save our soul from this untoward generation and be transformed by the renewing of our mind? Jesus worked out the plan of salvation with His blood requiring His Life for everyone who does the will of our Father. Despite difficulties in transformation, we should use the same tenacity on our spiritual treadmill to strengthen our mind and block out worldly distractions from our path of righteousness. I inclined the treadmill to increase my physical endurance in the last fifteen minutes of my sessions. I believe the same principle should be used to incline our minds with biblical knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to spread the gospel when spiritually healthy.
“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But YOU, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” (II Timothy 4:2-5)
We cannot procrastinate when it comes to saving our souls from this untoward generation. We need daily biblical injections to block out pain of worldliness to effectively and spiritually commune with the Lord. Otherwise, on Judgement Day, instead of injections for pain relief, our back will be turned to God walking away to eternal damnation. “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the ones who des the will of My Father who is in Heaven. Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” (Matthew 7:21, 23)

Each day God allows me to live, I am determine to stay on the physical and spiritual treadmills. My transformation into the SON Light could not have occurred had I not healed from the carnal mindset. Am I perfect? No! However, the spiritual treadmill not only leads to the gate of Heaven, but also to the path of striving for perfection on earth to be prepared to meet my Maker. I know how unpleasant it is living with chronic pain and grinding teeth. Therefore, I have no desire to experience eternal pain burning in Hell. “And shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 13:50)
FINAL THOUGHTS
Warning! Warning! Get off the treadmill to Hell by learning and obeying commandments of God. Use wisdom to know who, and what, you allow into the door to pierce your soul. It is not God against Satan, but Christians battling against Satan and demonic forces both fighting for our soul. “For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.” (Proverbs 4:16-17)
“Spiritual struggles and pains come from some of us, Christians, not losing the pressure and weight of worldliness.” — Tangie T. Woods

There is so much insight in your post. Praise the Lord! Indeed, spiritual training is very much valuable and we should not procrastinate but give in to the spiritual therapy that God is giving us for training. It is so good that you have both the physical and the spiritual therapy!

Unfortunately, despite still being a follower, your posts are not appearing in my WP timeline and while I can still comment I can’t like. It’s very frustrating and you’re not the only one, I’ve identified around 50 blogs where this is happening. Sadly, the Happiness Engineers have thus far been unable to resolve my problrms. ☹️

Sheree, thank you for reading and I hate you are having difficulties. I, too, since the upgrade am having problems liking a few bloggers messages. Also, each time I visit certain bloggers page I have to follow them again so I understand the frustration. Hopefully, the bugs will work their way out of the new format. Thank you for reading and reblogging. I agree. She is a smart little girl and has already made progress due to my modified behavior in front of her. Sadly, children are taught and/or see things from parents and other adults that manifest in their adulthood. We are teaching her based on scriptures and pray it follows her into adulthood if Jesus does not return from. Have a great evening and remain safe.

Tangie, what a beautiful analogy. I am guilty of procrastination. We have been quarantined almost 8 months, i am ashamed to say, but there sre still things in the house that have not been done. Ptocrastination is not good. You have pricked me to do better. Ivam certainly guilty. Thanks for such a thought provoking blog. Love to all, and a hug to your brilliant grand daughter.
