Welcome to the Spiritual Academy of Ants

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. (Proverbs 6:6-11)

I know you are familiar with a different type of blogging format from me. However, this subject was inspired by the Holy Spirit and had to be shared. Perhaps you are wondering what Christians can learn while attending the Spiritual Academy of Ants. Well, let us see what the Master Teacher has to say to the ants.

In homeroom, the ants must first stand to pledge allegiance to God. This is what I did, as a child, before God was removed from schools. Today, I still pledge my allegiance to God. Now, back to the ants, the Master Teacher discusses their homework assignments which include the importance of not showing favoritism in colonies, to be tightly fitted and practice formation in solidarity for a common cause.

Unlike ants, Christians have a commander, an overseer and a ruler. In first period, the ants understand the importance of working as one body in unity, and remaining faithful to the queen even though she does not delegate their tasks. What about us? Do we truly understand what faithfulness means to our Commander, God? (I Samuel 12:24-25)

In second period, the Master Teacher gives the ants accolades for working together and not doing anything out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility and value other ants above themselves, not looking to their own interests. (Philippians 2:3-5)

In third period, the ants learn to be devoted to teaching, fellowshipping with other ants, and sharing their harvest. (Acts 2:42)

In fourth period, the ants are too busy working to be disruptive. (II Thessalonians 3:11)

In fifth period, the ants talk about dwelling in dark beds, but emerging in the light working as a unified army. (Ephesians 5:-11)

In sixth period, the ants are always digging in dirt and getting dirty hands to store their food for the future. In like manner, Christians should be digging deeper in the Word of God to learn the importance of evangelism. We are commanded to “GO” into the vineyard teaching the gospel according to Jesus; to not only secure our heavenly future but to give others hope.

I am working to secure my future in Heaven where there is no more pain and tears; no more dealing with corruptions and wickedness. “He will wipe every tear from [my] eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Glory Halleluiah to getting rid of the old order of things in this corrupt world. “Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word, I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.  For what I received, I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the Third day according to the Scriptures. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (I Corinthians 15:1-3, 58)

HOMEWORK STUDY SCRIPTURES:

Acts 2:42; John 15:13-27; Hebrews 10:23-27; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; I Corinthians 12:25-27; Ephesians 2:10; Matthew 28:19-20; Zephaniah 3:9; John 14:15; Isiah 1:19-21; Romans 8:14-15; James 1:27; Romans 15:2-8; James 2:8-10; and Romans 12:9-21

QUESTIONS TO PONDER

Is there anything else Christians can learn from the ants besides how they care for one, defend one another, and work together? How they are faithful to the queen? How they fellowship and share their harvest? How they build and repair together?

FINAL THOUGHT

Attributes of the ants were designed by God from the beginning, and to this day, they remain faithful to their Creator. What about us?

    1. Agree, very organized and precise. How sad that mankind, God’s greatest creation, is His biggest disappointment. “And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.” (Genesis 6:6)
