Earthly essentials cannot save our soul from this untoward generation. Instead, we must open the Bible to meditate on scriptures, obey the Gospel of Jesus and follow biblical essentials that lead to the only Plan of Salvation. — Tangie T. Woods
Amid flu season, COVID-19 respiratory viruses and social distancing, are we preparing, or prepared, for the imminent return of Jesus?
Forecasters and Center for Disease Control inundate us with severe weather and COVID-19 information, alerts, and warnings. We are instructed how to properly board windows and doors, and even told when to evacuate while maintaining social distancing. Some agencies also have automated mass communication systems to ensure their employees safety during severe weather conditions and to announce state of emergency warnings.
These communication tools God allow man to use are good for warning of potential weather conditions; but will never predict or warn of Jesus’ return. We listen, and follow, directives for weather conditions and social distancing to prevent contracting viruses; and rightly so. But we should take heed to the wisest warning given in the Bible. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
God, too, have a mass communication system called the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Biblical commandments are given to ensure His children’s souls are safe if we obey and remain faithful unto death. Sadly, some Christians have taken down their heart’s protection board to throw out godliness, their integrity, faith, and their salvation. Why? It seems easier sometimes to assuage lustful desires to lavish in a sin sick world flavoring enticement with everything contrary to biblical commandments.
Why do we allow salvation of our soul to remain in a state of emergency? Why deny Jesus’ heart transplant procedure we so desperately need to prevent a spiritual death. Jesus paid the cost with His life; therefore, the assurance of His blood insurance covers all expenses. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
If our heart has social distance from the Lord, we need to visit the biblical pharmacy to fill the prescription of Dr. Jesus to seal all cracks making it difficult, for those doing Satan’s evil bidding, to penetrate our hearts. We cannot allow them to negotiate their evil settlement in exchange for us to live in eternal damnation. Remember, there is power in the Blood of Jesus, not in the hands of Satan.
Repent! “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so, You are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then, I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. (Psalm 51:4, 9-13)
Examples To Ponder
Below are a few advance preparations we utilized for our earthly possessions while lessening soul preparation to leave this untoward generation.
- Advance preparations are made to fix cracks in roads and sidewalk to ensure citizens safety concerns. How? Summoning maintenance crews utilizing city or county insurance regardless of cost.
- Advance preparations are made to fix cracks in houses foundation to prevent further costly damage. How? Summoning structural engineers utilizing homeowners’ insurance regardless of cost.
- Advance preparations are made to fix or replace cracks in engines or windshields to prevent spreading or requiring total replacement? How? Summoning mechanics or glass repairers utilizing automobile insurance regardless of cost.
- Advance preparation is made to file yearly income tax forms. Why? Preventing the Internal Revenue Service from using their authority to seize our assets if we do not file or pay taxes.
God summoned His Son, Jesus, to die on a cross for the remission of our sin. An innocent Man’s life sacrificed for a spiritual dying world. Yet sometimes we choose to ignore God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for fear of mankind who can only kill the body but cannot touch our soul.
Is Jesus Returning?
The Bible has given us advance warning of Jesus’ return, Judgment Day and what to expect regarding salvation! Therefore, knowing God cannot lie, we should not allow anyone or anything to social distance us from Him and biblical instructions.
Jesus does not even know the day of His return, only God; therefore, we should be prepared and resting on the assurance that He will return like a thief in the night. (I Thessalonians 5:2, II Peter 3:10 and Revelation 16:15)
Is Your Soul Sealed By The Blood of Jesus?
God made advanced preparation for Jesus to save us with His life. Are we performing self-examinations from personal perspective, or from biblical perspective, to ensure our soul insurance has not lapsed? “Therefore, my brother and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (II Peter 1:10-11)
I pray we all remain safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus to maintain soul preparedness for His return.
Ultimate Question To Ponder
Based on scriptures, can we honestly say it is well with our soul if Jesus return now?
