Most likely, the majority of us have been on a roller coaster. I have; and my first ride was definitely my last due to extremely bad and unexpected side effects. Today, I have honored my vow for approximately 25 years to never ride another roller coaster, or any other rides that lift me off the ground.
Life is like a roller coaster going up and down, twisting and turning with fear, anxiety, depression, sadness, joy, anger, love, hate, bitter, jealousy, envy, emotional, physical and spiritual pain, and so forth. If you have experienced an emotional roller coaster then you know how difficult it is to maintain normalcy?
My past emotional roller coaster consisted of fear, sadness, regret, stress, anxiety, frustration and unexpected setbacks due to injuries sustained in 2009. Due to having Chronic Kidney Disease and a compromised immune system, I was medically informed as being high risk for COVID-19. However, my medical conditions are no comparison to families on emotional roller coasters that have been affected from havoc made by COVID-19.
My focus is on my soul being sealed with the blood of Jesus to face the Judgment, and my faith in God outweighs my fear in any devastating conditions that He allows. Someone asked me about my calmness; and I replied, my body will return to the ground in which it came, but my soul’s salvation is eternal. External distractions will not cost me from hopefully hearing God say, “Tangie, well done my good and faithful servant….” Again, I am cautious: https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-fear.html
The LORD blesses you and keep you; the Lord makes His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turns His face toward you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
Sadly, COVID-19 has petrified many onto a fearful roller coaster. My family is exercising wisdom and taking precautionary measures with knowledge and understanding our faith in God. While not intentionally compromising our health, we are maintaining awareness of our surroundings.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because He first loved us. (I John 4:18-19)
Despite national disasters allowed by God, we should be mindful that He is all powerful. I understand that people’s emotions are real and should not be taken lightly.
I waited patiently for the LORD; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in Him. (Psalm 40:1-3)
Let us continue to pray without ceasing that the world repents from wickedness, and God puts His hedge of protection around us.
And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the LORD said I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping things, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Me that I have made them. (Genesis 6:6-7)
Lord, help the world off its emotional roller coaster!
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you. (Proverbs 9:10-11a)
