“The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.” Proverbs 12:23
Do you attempt to instruct others on performing tasks, but instead of them listening to your instructions, they tell you the work can be done without instructions or assistance?” I experienced this as a team leader and as a supervisor; my response was “Okay, have at it.” But when I inquired later with Miss Know-It-All on the status of completion, it was not close to being done. Why? Not surprisingly, response was “We thought we could complete without instructions.”
For us teachable women, let us keep encouraging one another to learn empirically and intellectually while maturing in God’s Word. For I eagerly run towards the prize (crown of life) to eternally live in Heaven with my Lord and Savior.
God too gave us biblical instructions to live righteously on earth until Jesus’ return, and to save ourselves from this untoward generation. Oftentimes, we choose not to follow His instructions because we “know it all” and “feel” that our thoughts for our lives outweigh the LORD’s. Isaiah 55:8-9, states “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, said the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
What does the Bible say about Miss Know-It-All? “And if any man [woman] think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.” I Corinthians 8:2
What are some characteristics of Miss Know-It-All?
She is not teachable and enjoys sharing other’s “wrong view” about something even though her view is wrong. She is short-tempered and lacks patience with others. She is harsh, lacks gentleness and constantly belittles others. She does not listen to others since she “knows everything.” She enjoys meddling and squabbling about trivial matters. She puts on airs to build herself up to be put on a pedestal. She is divisive, disruptive and eager to break bonds of unity. She turns conversations into stories of how much she knows and values only what is important to her. She is selfish, prideful, materialistic and has an ungodly attitude. She is a busybody, argumentative and must be the center of attention to feel validated.

“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk named, and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:15
“Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Acts 2:40
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” II Peter 3:10
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.” I Thessalonians 5:1-2
